Proposals are definitely top of my list when it comes to things I love to photograph. Working with a boyfriend to propose in a jaw dropping way is so freaking fun. This sunrise proposal totally fed my creativity and sparked the most joy!
Rick and Kiara are from Arizona, so I knew when he reached out about planning an epic Montana proposal that he was gonna need some help. We set up our first call and spent about an hour getting to know each other and Rick got to tell me all about their love story.
They had been dating for a year and they met through their church! So freaking sweet. By the end of the call I knew I wanted to be apart of this awesome proposal. Rick even expressed how good he felt knowing he had found a photographer who shared their love for Christ. That sealed the deal for us!
Rick and I spent a few weeks planning the proposal to a tee, I created directions with maps, and helped him choose outfits for them both, and we had a couple more calls before the big day.
The morning of the sunrise proposal I was up by three thirty getting the truck loaded and ready to make the three hour drive to the location. By five o’clock I was well on my way to meet him. Rick had picked Belton Bridge in West Glacier as the perfect spot for this special moment.
My assistant and I hiked down passed the bridge to find a good hiding spot and we waited. Though the wait was short, it felt like an eternity. Rick and Kiara made their way down to the spot and everything unfolded perfectly! It’s amazing when everything goes according to plan, and I say this ALL THE TIME, but trusting your photographer is what makes all the magic happen.
After Kiara said yes, we spent another hour and half exploring, dancing, and plating in the snow. Their gallery is one of my best yet. I could not be more grateful for having had the opportunity to work with them!
Congratulations Rick & Kiara, you truly deserve the world!
